Candidate for President Maia Laguta said the government manipulates the voters by polls. She developed the issue in the talk show “Pahomi” on Realitatea TV channel, IPN reports.
“The polls are an electoral technique for manipulating the voters. Those who are in power indicate how the people should vote. They rig the elections not with the ballot, but with polls. In the local elections of 2015, everyone said they would vote for Maia Laguta. And what did they do? Several days before the elections, they disseminated a poll saying that Chirtoaca would win about 30% of the poll, Dodon about 30%, while Maia Laguta 1%. By this poll they showed to the voters who these should vote for,” stated the candidate for the office of President.
Maia Laguta considers the Head of State can fight corruption by ensuring transparency. “If I become President, I will present information about each of the functionaries who didn’t do their job to the public. The President has such instruments, through the state institutions. Each action of the President must be clear. I will follow how they react to each complaint of the people. The non-fulfillment of duties means passive corruption,” she said.
Maia Lagurta also said that her first call as President will be addressed to the public functionaries and these will be urged to do their job.
