Lower demand makes industrial companies cut prices
After forced to decrease production volumes by about 24.9% in the first half of this year, the industrial companies started to reduce prices too. The official statistical data show the industrial prices in July fell by 0.6% on average from June, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the prices of the Moldovan industrial goods on the home market dropped by about 10%. The expert of IDIS Viitorul Victor Parlicov said this shows that the demand for these goods on the foreign markets has decreased and this is proven by the lower exports. The prices of products from the extractive industry and processing industry last month fell by about 7% and, respectively, 2% from January.
Victor Parlicov has told Info-Prim Neo that the development of the Moldovan industry depends greatly on the situation on the foreign markets. If the economies of the European countries continue to recover, the industrial companies in Moldova would also recuperate. The situation could stabilize in half a year, when the demand for industrial products will grow again.
