At a number of polling stations in Belgium, France, the UK, Germany, Italy, Ireland and Romania, lines that can be longer than 100 voters appeared in parts. The Moldovans abroad are urged to inform themselves before going to vote, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said there were lines of over 100 people by midday at polling stations in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Kassel, Dublin, Bologna, Parma, Padova, Mestre, Milan, Brescia, London, Northampton, and Bucharest.
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the authorities call on the diaspora to strictly obey the norms of conduct in the countries of origin and to follow the updated information on embassies’ websites, which is designed to fluidize the flows of people at polls.
In the case of states with more polling stations, the Moldovan voters can find out which of the stations are closer to them by visiting the application developed by the CEC.
