The inhabitants of Lebedenco village of Cahul district are expected to take part in a local referendum on dismissing mayor Tatiana Pinti on July 7. The referendum was initiated by a group of councilors who are dissatisfied with the mayor’s work.

Tatiana Pinti was elected mayor on the lists of the Communist Party and her dismissal is sought also by the Communist councilors.

Central Election Commission secretary Andrei Volentir said that Tatiana Pinti will lose her post if as many or more people than the number of those who voted for her in the mayoral elections will vote for her dismissal, i.e. 469 persons.

In Lebedenco there are 1,958 people with the right to vote.
