Local elections to be held in two villages Nov. 15

New local elections to choose councilors will take place in Lingura village of Cantemir district and in Cosernita village of Criuleni district on November 15. Aft the local general elections of this June, the local councilors of these villages could not ensure a quorum at three council constitution meetings, IPN reports.

The Central Election Commission said that under the Law on the Local Public Administration, the given local councils are considered lawfully dissolved.

Contenders representing the Liberal Democratic Party, the Liberal Party, the Democratic Party, the European People’s Party and the Party of Communists are running for councilor on the Lingura village council. The runners taking part in the electoral race for posts on the Cosernita village council represent the Liberal Democratic Party, the Party of Communists and the Party of Socialists.

The councils of the two villages consist of 11 councilors each.
