Local authorities have troubles with “singing” fountains in the Opera Square
Starting the activity of “singing” panpipe-like fountains placed in the square in front of the Opera and Ballet Theatre on Easter Holidays is still a problem.
Many persons within the municipal services reported at Monday operative meeting that there were found 12 technical problems, which do not allow starting the activity of this fountain on 23 April.
Interim mayor of the capital Vasile Ursu ordered that all the problems to be found and solved until 23 April.
The fountains of the square of the Opera and Ballet Theatre were opened on September 2005. The highest jet of fountains has 9 meters and the lowest – 2 meters, and their lightening is influenced by music rhythms. Construction works of fountains, together with those of fitting the square, cost about 7 million lei.
On 23 April shall start working other three big fountains of the capital – of the Public Garden Stefan cel Mare, Railway Station and Botanica district, situated in front of the cinema „Columna”. Their launching became a tradition on Easter holidays. Only the fountain of the public garden will function the whole week, at10.00-20.00, excepting Monday, when prophylaxis works have to be done. The other two will work on weekends and on holidays.
