The electronic voting system can be used at the meetings of local, district and municipal councils. The sponsors of a relevant bill that was adopted by Parliament said that this initiative will increase transparency in local decision making and will optimize voting procedures within local councils, IPN reports.
Each councilor will be authorized to enter the electronic voting system for voting on the discussed decisions. Electronic voting will be optionally used at the meetings of local councils to deter mine the quorum, to vote and to count the votes.
The meetings of local councils can be broadcast live on national or local public TV and radio stations, social media, other media channels, official websites of the LPAs or by private individuals attending the meeting.
Both the electronic voting results and the minutes of meetings can be published on the official website of the local public administration.
