The municipal road maintenance company Autosalubritate will receive a loan of €9 million and a grant of €5 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for implementing the Chisinau Solid Waste Project. A draft decision to this effect was adopted by the Chisinau Municipal Council, IPN reports.
The loan is repayable in 12 years, with a grace period of three years.
According to the Chisinau City Hall, the loan, interest rate and commissions will be paid by annually adjusting the waste collection tariffs.
The municipality’s contribution to the project is €7.96 million, €1.5 million of which has been already invested.
