Lithuanian expert recommends Moldovan wine producers to change the sales system
The Moldovan wine problem on the Russian market is a political one and that is how it happens on big markets. This is the reason why Moldovan wine producers must change the products’ marketing system, declared at a press conference the president of a Lithuanian alcohol distribution enterprise, inclusively wine distribution, Rimvidas Iasinavciuc, ex-Minister of Industry in Lithuania.
According to the quoted source, the method “the more you buy, the cheaper I sell to you” used by the wine producers is not correct. “The wholesale dealers do not need wine but a supplementary benefit”.
Due to the present conditions, Moldova has to sell wine in small portions, a quantity bought in shops, not to stuff the importer’s stores. “The shops offer us tap-rooms; the rest of the job is done by the special agents of the company I represent. These agents take care of what and how much is sold, and depending on the numbers they fill the shelves with the needed products. The income of each shelf is important for shops not what products are exposed on it”.
According to the Lithuanian expert, the quality of the Moldovan, Georgian and Ukrainian wines decline in a very short period of time, in about 3-6 months. So these wines have to be sold in smaller quantities. “The wholesale dealers mustn’t be exposed to the risk of not having the possibility to sell the purchased wine because of its quality”, says Iasinavicius.
The Lithuanian ex-Minister considers that Moldovan wine producers must search for partners in its immediate neighborhood, inclusively in Poland, Lithuania and other countries.
Rimvidas Iasinavicius is visiting Chisinau aiming to lecture several seminars in the field of Constraints Theory, which is based on increasing the volume of sales by evaluating limits and motivations. Seminars are aimed for businessmen from all areas of activity and will take place in the period April 17 - 21. In the first day 40 economic units representatives from Moldova participated, they must pay a 150 USD fee for the courses. In the next few days the fee will raise to 300 USD.
