List of compensated medicines extended

The list of medicines compensated with money from the mandatory health insurance funds was extended by introducing one more drug that is used for the treatment of osteoporosis in the long term. This is called Alendronic Acid that is sold in tablet form and will be 40% compensated, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the List of International Common Names of compensated drugs was supplemented also with new doses and forms, such as: salmeterolum+fluticasonum, inhalation suspension for the treatment of respiratory diseases in children; bilastinum, pills for the treatment of epidermolysis bullosa; clemastinum, injectable solution for the treatment of epidermolysis bullosa; acetylcysteinum, capsules and solution for the treatment of bronchial asthma in children and of the infection with the novel coronavirus.

Another provision refers to the method of prescribing and issuing compensated psychotropic drugs. There were also made changes to the model prescription for medicines compensated with money from the mandatory health insurance funds.

The new regulations will take effect when the given order of the Ministry is published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova.
