Licenses issued to first 55 private bailiffs
The first 55 private executors of court decisions have received their licenses. The licenses were handed by Justice Minister Alexandru Tanase in a ceremony on Friday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a press release from the Ministry, Alexandru Tanase expressed his confidence that the new status of the bailiffs will demonstrate that private bailiffs are more efficient, as the court decisions will be respected by everyone and no one will doubt them. The minister also said that, through this radical reform, the bailiff will become an important figure with an according status and weight.
Under the law on private bailiffs, these professionals will carry out a liberal activity, like the lawyers or notaries, with the main aim to ensure the execution of court decisions. Thus, the bailiffs will be responsible for organizing their own work at their on expense, and the citizens will be free to choose from any of the 70 bailiffs that will work within the constituency of a Chamber of Bailiffs.
Within the constituency of every court in the country there will be at least 2 bailiffs.
Under the new system of enforcing court orders, all the costs of the enforcement will be charged on the debtor. At the same time, the bailiff will receive his/her fee only if partially or fully successful in enforcing the court decision.
