The Liberal MPs stated that the government, by supporting a bill proposed by the Communists, prepares a hotbed of instability in the country. They made reference to the bill to declare Taraclia a national cultural district, IPN reports.
Liberal lawmaker Valeriu Munteanu told a news conference that by this status, Taraclia district is given an element of autonomy. This bill is not only an anti-state one, but will also be adopted by violating the Constitution.
The leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu reminded that as a result of Moscow’s influence on Moldova, the Transnistrian districts were offered a special status, while Gagauzia was named an autonomous region. Now they want to give a similar status to Taraclia district, which is inhabited mainly by Bulgarians.
The Liberal leader called on the Liberal-Democratic and Democratic MPs not to support this bill so as not to create a new hotbed of tensions and instability in the country.
