Liberal lawmakers filed a challenge to the Constitutional Court, asking pronouncing on the constitutionality of the legal provisions that allow conceding public property of the state, in particular the legality of the decisions to approve the list of public property of the state, the list of works and services of national public interest available for concession or of other forms of public-private partnership, IPN reports.
The authors of the challenge said a series of amendments were made to the legislation with the aim of conceding the assets managed by the Chisinau International Airport and the adjoining land. New schemes are now being used to re-concede the assets of the airport to a new legal entity and remove traces of the appropriation schemes employed by Ilan Shor, who is investigated in the case of stealing of money from three Moldovan banks.
The Liberals noted they do not challenge the Government decisions concerning the concession of the Chisinau International Airport, but namely the legal provisions through which the Government was empowered to adopt those decisions.
