Lib-Dems ask Govt. to disclose plan on flood management

The Liberal Democratic Party from Moldova (PLDM) asks the Government to make public its plan to manage the flood emergency. They also want the caused damages urgently assessed, in order to determine the means necessary to remove the aftereffects, Info-Prim Neo reports. PLDM's president, Vlad Filat, told a news conference on Thursday that, after visiting some flood-stricken areas, he found the situation is not as the one officially presented. The authorities' actions are insufficient, as the people are left alone to face the calamity. PLDM asks the Government to insure the evacuation of the citizens' belongings from the affected areas and to guard the non-transportable assets, to supply the people with pumps; to check the flooded houses; to inform the people on possible epidemics. PLDM also asks the speaker of the Parliament, Marian Lupu, to convene the Legislature urgently to hear the Government on the calamity and to earmark aid for the affected people. Supposing the speaker's reluctance, PLDM has already started to collect signatures from opposition MPs to convene the extraordinary sitting.
