Lawyers of Moldova attend a seminar for lawyers in the area of the Convention on Human Rights Protection

Another group of 20 lawyers of Moldova participate on 31 March-12 April the seminar for lawyers of the field of the Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Liberties Protection. The seminar is organized by the general director of human rights in cooperation with the Organization Jurists for Human Rights (JDO) and Lawyers Bar, with the support of the European Commission. According to Vladislav Gribincea, JDO jurist, the seminar is organized within the joint program of the Council of Europe and the European Commission „Continuous Development of democratic reforms in Moldova 2004-2006”. Johanna Berger, joint program manager, noted at the opening of the seminar that this program represents a concrete assistance in implementing the Action Plan Moldova-EU. The juridical field and respect of human rights have a great importance in plan’s provisions, she said. Berger mentioned that the goal of these seminars is to create a background of lawyers who will be trained in implementing the Convention at national level. The course includes 6 seminars, in 3 groups, this being the 2nd group. There will be trained 60 lawyers during the seminars. Judges and prosecutors benefit from similar seminars.
