A lawyer from Hincesti was detained on Monday morning for allegedly demanding a bribe in the amount of 16,500 euros from a man under investigation by law enforcement agencies. The lawyer told him that he had influence over public figures and could induce them to issue a favorable decision in the case, IPN reports.

After the searches, the lawyer was detained for 72 hours and objects and documents were seized, which will be studied in the criminal case to establish the persons involved.

The lawyer will be placed in the National Anti-Corruption Center's (CNA) criminal investigation isolator.
