Lawmaker demands Termocom to stop turning residential blocks off heating
Lawmaker Ion Neagu asked Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev on Thursday, March 2, „to stop the illegitimate” heating turnoff by Termocom, when the heating season did not end yet.
Neagu said in interpellation to the parliament that the turnoffs on winter are illegal, criticising the executive for neglecting the fact that there are consumers in those blocks who have paid for consumed heating and elderly, ill people and children in apartments disconnected from the heating supply.
He noted that the law on condominium says that the failure of some residents to pay for heating consumption is not a ground for turnoff. He cited a governmental decision that prohibits the turnoff during the heating season. Also, he noted that the agreement with Termocom stipulates individual relations with every consumer.
The heating provider Termocom started on February 27 turning 67 blocks in Chisinau off heating. According to Termocom administrator Dionisie Antocel, the 67 blocks paid between 0 and 30 percent of consumption. He noted that Termocom will turn 2-3 blocks off heating every day. Seven blocks were turned heating off on Wednesday.
