All the local subdivisions of the National House of Social Insurance by July 8 received 7,889 applications from persons who want their old-age pensions to be reassessed. This is 58% of the projected figure of 13,575 eligible persons, IPN reports.

Some 55% of the applications were filed by persons living in the municipalities of Chisinau and Bălți.

Under Article 33 of Law No. 156/1998 on the Public Pension System that was amended by Law No. 168 of December 6, 2019, the right to have the old-age pensions reviewed as of July 1 this year is enjoyed by the persons whose pension was set after January 1, 1999 and have an insurance period of at least ten years after the pension was set.

This way, on July 1 this year, the local houses of social insurance started to accept applications from the entitled recipients of pensions according to their domicile.
