Large percentage of traffic cops fail re-certification test
Over 200 Traffic Police officers have failed their re-certification tests, and over 200 others passed the test conditionally, meaning they have been given a 6-month trial period during which they are expected to improve their expertise, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Traffic Police Division said in a press release that October 12 was the last day of the re-certification session. Following two sets of tests, 46 officers passed the examination and they will keep their jobs.
The officers who failed the tests will be offered other jobs either in the Traffic Police or in another division of the Ministry of the Interior. Examinees may challenge their results and their applications will be resolved until October 24. So far, 30 such applications have been submitted. The vacancies that will ensue will be filled through a public contest.
The Traffic Police has a body of 566 officers, and 475 of them took the test. 91 other officers skipped the exams either due to sickness or other types of leaves and are to take the tests at a later date.
