Landowners on whose plots a railway was built are not satisfied with their compensations
Some landowners from Sangera town, where a portion of the railway Revaca-Cainari was built, are dissatisfied with the damage amount paid by the government, reported the chairman of the initiative group of owners, Victor Mocanu.
According to Mocanu, once the plots were changed into construction lands, the owners should have received about 9,000 lei/degree ha and not 500 lei/degree ha, as the government offers them. According to him the landowners were simply expropriated, and the Law on expropriation was not applied. „From the start, the Parliament had to announce that these plots are a public utility, so the government must not decide on its own,” Victor Mocanu mentioned.
Nine private lands owners of Sangera sued the authorities, blaming them of violating the right to property. Now the case is examined by the Supreme Justice Court, and the chairman of the initiative group hopes to win. If not, the owners are decided to address further in the European Court of Human Rights.
The government decided this week to allocate compensations of 1.1 million lei for 41 owners of town Sangera, on whose lands were built a portion of the railway Revaca-Cainari.
