Know candidates in your constituency! No. 8: Florești

Constituency No.8: Florești includes the towns of Florești, Ghindești, Mărculești and another 31 localities of Florești district. The people there will vote at polling places No. 8/1-8/61. The candidate who wins the largest number of votes in a single-member constituency, regardless of the voter turnout, emerges victorious.  

Current Democratic MP Eugeniu Nikiforchuk, a doctor by profession, tops the list of candidates in the given constituency. The candidate entered Parliament in February 2015. Earlier, he worked as vice director of the company SA “Terconvit” and at the Central Committee of the Party of Communists. Eugeniu Nikiforchuk joined the Democratic Party in 2011 and since May 2012 has served as the party’s deputy secretary general and a member of the National Political Council of the PDM. For January 1, 2017 – December 27, 2018, the candidate and with his wife declared over 391,000 lei in wages. The family also declared 2.6 million lei revenues from selling or owning securities or holdings in commercial organizations and 350,000 lei from the sale of a car. The family also earned 239,000 lei and €50,000 in allowances and donations. It possesses three apartments and a car.

Current Socialist MP Sergiu Groza, a jurist by profession, is under No. 2 on the ballot. He entered Parliament in July 2017 as a substitute candidate on the list of the Party of Socialists. According to alege2019.md, in 1987 Sergiu Groza started work in the bodies of internal affairs and held different posts. In 2000, he was transferred to the prosecution service. When he tendered his resignation, he served as prosecutor of Florești district. In 2012-2017, he headed the  Florești local organization of the PSRM. For January 1, 2017 – December 26, 2018, he and his wife declared over 366,000 lei salary. Sergiu Groza earned more than 302,000 lei in allowances, pension and rental of land. He owns seven pieces of land, a home, a garage and two cars.

The third place is occupied by the Party of Communists’ candidate Grigore Cojocaru, an engineer and politologist by profession. In 2011-2015, he served as mayor of Florești town representing the PCRM. Currently, Grigore Cojocaru works as a district councilor in Florești on behalf of the Party of Communists. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate and his wife declared over 186,000 lei salary and 296,000 lei pension and allowances. The candidate owns two houses and a car.

The Shor Parity’s candidate Gennady Ladaniuc, an electrical engineer for industrial equipment by profession, is under No. 4. He currently does not work. In his property and interests statement, the candidate declared two cars. There is no information about his revenues.

The fifth place is taken by the Our Party’s candidate Ludmila Crijanovski, a zoo-technician by profession who temporarily does not work. She is the secretary of the Florești Local Organization of the Our Party. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate and her husband declared 26,000 lei from the sale of three cars and over 114,000 lei pension, allowances and rental of an area. The family owns an apartment, an unfinished house, four auxiliary constructions and a car.

The candidate of the electoral bloc ACUM Platform DA and PAS Iurie Țap is under No. 6. The current Liberal-Democratic MP is a teacher by profession. He has served as an MP since 2009. In 2009-2010, he held the post of Deputy Parliament Speaker. In 1999-2009, he was mayor of Florești town, while in 1991-1999 deputy head of the Florești District Executive Committee. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate and his wife declared over 653,000 lei in salary. Iurie Țap gained 5,500 lei from teaching activity and almost 343,000 lei in pension and allowances. The candidate owns two apartments and a car

The Liberal Party’s candidate Anatolie Cărbune, a teacher by profession who is now retired, comes seventh. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate and his wife declared over 147,000 lei in salary and more than 85,000 lei in pension. The family possesses two apartments.
