Know candidates in your constituency! No. 51: U.S. & Canada

Constituency No. 51: polling places in this constituency were established in the U.S. and Canada. The people there will vote at polling places No. 51/1 to 51/15. The candidate who wins the largest number of votes in a single-member constituency, regardless of the voter turnout, becomes the winner.

The first spot on the ballot is taken by the Democratic Party’s candidate Gennady Moroșanu, an actor by profession. He works as an actor and film director at the SixtySix Theatre in Hollywood, the U.S., and as an actor at the international company “Victor Kruglov and Associates”. He also serves as a film director at the Anenii Noi district house of culture. The candidate graduated from the International Management Institute of Chisinau and later the Theater and Film Institute Lee Strasberg in Los Angeles, the U.S. Since 2010, he has won multiple awards for his activity in culture in a number of states. For the last two years, the candidate declared over 52,000 lei salary revenues. He owns a car and 5,000 lei and about US$5,000 in bank accounts.

The Party of Socialists’ candidate Gaik Vartanean, a politologist by profession, comes second. He serves as s municipal councilor on the Chisinau Municipal Council on behalf of the PSRM. He manages the periodical “Socialiștii” and heads the Armenian Community in Moldova. For the last two years, the candidate declared over 34,000 lei salary revenues. He owns two cars.

Independent candidate Viorel Savva, a lawyer by profession, is under No. 3. He is the founder of the Consultancy and Advocacy Society “SAVVA”. Earlier, he headed the Youth Organization of the party Our Moldova Alliance that was then led by Serafim Urecheanu. After attempting to enter politics, the candidate left for the U.S. where he was admitted to the New York Bar Association. For the last two years, the candidate declared over 216,000 lei salary revenues.

Independent candidate Valeriu Ghiletski, an engineer by profession, takes the fourth spot. He entered Moldova’s Parliament in 2009. He served as Deputy Speaker and deputy head of the Parliament’s commission on foreign policy and European integration and is a member of Moldova’s delegation to PACE. He graduated from the Electro-Technical Institute of Odessa, Ukraine. For the last two years, the candidate and his wife declared over 392,000 lei salary. He gained dividends of 83,000 lei, 5,000 lei from the sale of property and about 141,000 lei earned from other legal sources. The family owns land, two houses, three garages, a commercial area, a summer kitchen and a car and also 135,00 lei and over US$ 4,000 lei in bank accounts. He candidate also owns holdings inn three companies.

The candidate of the electoral bloc ACUM DA and PAS Dumitru Alaiba, an economist by profession, is under No. 5. He is the programs director and founder of the public association “Center for Structural Policies and Reforms of Moldova. Dumitru Alaiba has five years’ experience in international consultancy and was project coordinator in Balkan and CIS countries in finances, business and economy. In 2009-2016, he worked as part of Moldova’s Government and then for two years as part of the civil society and business communities. For the last two years, the candidate declared over 323,000 lei and more than €37,000 salary revenues. He earned over 33,000 lei and €3,000 from teaching activities and €12,000 from other legal sources. Dumitru Alaiba owns a part of a lot, three apartments, a part of a house and a car, about 37,000 lei and over €12,000 in bank accounts in the country and abroad. He is the founder and owns holdings in five companies.

Independent candidate Valentin Ganea, a jurist by profession, comes sixth. He works as a lawyer at the law center “Valentin Ganea”. For the last two years, the candidate and his wife declared 159,000 lei salary. The family received over 174,000 lei pension and allowances. The candidate owns eight lots of land, two houses and a car.

Independent candidate Gheorghi Grozav, a sports trainer, is under No. 7. He teaches at the University of Physical of Education and Sport of Moldova. He heads the National Fighting Sports Federation “GRO-DO” of Moldova. For the last two years, the candidate declared over 41,000 lei from teaching, scientific and creation activities, while the candidate’s wife gained over 16,000 lei allowances. Gheorghi Grozav owns a lot and parts of other lots, parts of constructions, a house and a garage.

Independent Petru Neaga, an economist by profession, comes eighth. He works as a tax inspector at the Revenues Agency of Quebec, Canada. He studied at the Agrarian University, the Faculty of Economy and Management. He settled in Canada almost 15 years ago. For the last two years, the candidate and his wife declared 143,000 Canadian dollars revenues. He earned €15,000 from the sale of a house and more than 11,000 Canadian dollars in child benefit. The candidate owns three lots of land, a house, two cars and US$ 12,000 Canadian dollars in bank accounts.

The Shor Party’s candidate  Rodica Rusu, an economist and a journalist by profession, is under No. 9. She is a PR specialist at SRL “Avia Invest”. She also works as a blogger. For the last two years, the candidate and her husband declared over 580,000 lei salary revenues, over 30,000 lei from teaching or creation activities, over 11,000 lei rental, over 6,000 lei from the sale of property and over 136,000 lei in child benefit. The candidate owns a lot of  land, an apartment, two cars, over 41,000 lei and about €400 in financial assets. She is the founder of two limited liabilities companies.

The tenth spot is taken by independent candidate Alexandrin Patron, an entrepreneur and operations director at the telecommunications company “Moldcable” INC that she founded. She is 26 and is from Edineț duct it, but has lived for five years in the U.S. For the last two years, the candidate declared over 1.222 million lei salary revenues. He owns a part of Moldcable INC that brought him over 15.307 million lei revenues and a part of the transport company “Patron Trucking”. He owns a car, a watch offered as a present and over 862,000 lei in a bank account.

Independent candidate Roman Palancica, a bachelor of international sciences, is under No. 11. He works as director-administrator at a car sales company in Virginia, the U.S. He graduated from the International Relations Faculty of the State University of Moldova in 2007. For the last two years, the candidate didn’t declare salary revenues. He yet declared US$50 interest on bank deposits, over US$ 317,000 profit from two companies founded by him and over US$ 126,000 in checking accounts. He owns three companies.

Independent Oleg Bînzar, a bahcler o humanistic sciences, comes 12th. He is the director of the firm “WTP Investment” LLC. He has lived in the U.S. together with his family for 20 years. He studied at the Florida International University in Miami and then at the University of South Florida. He speaks fluently six languages. For the last two years, the candidate declared no salary revenues and over US$900,000 from entrepreneurial activities. He owns land and two homes bought on mortgage, two cars and three trailers and also over US$ 122,000 in checking accounts and an investment fund of US$ 528,000. He is the director of two companies, the vice president of one and the associate of another, all based in the U.S.  

Independent Ana Vasilachi, a jurist by profession, us under No. 13. She served as a Liberal municipal councilor on Chisinau in 2007-2009 and as deputy minister of labor, social protection and child in the Filat Government and later deputy minister of defense in charge of social matters. The candidate declared over 11,000 lei revenues, but didn’t specify the period when these were earned. She earned €15,000 from the sale of property and 15,000 lei from other legal sources. She owns an apartment.
