Constituency No. 34: Anenii Noi embraces Anenii Noi town and 24 localities of the district. The electors there will vote at polling places No. 34/1 to 34/40. The candidate who wins the largest number of votes in a single-member constituency, regardless of the voter turnout, emerges victorious.
The list of candidates on the ballot is headed by the Democratic Party’s candidate Alexandru Jizdan, a jurist by profession. The suspended minister of the interior graduated from the Police Academy “Ștefan cel Mare” and the Public Administration Academy working under the President of the Republic of Moldova. He has worked for 26 years in the Ministry of the Interior, in the organized crime and corruption fighting field. For January 1, 2017 – January 26, 2018, the candidate and his wife declared salaries to the value of over 790,000 lei and over 60,000 lei pension. Alexandru Jizdan owns two lots of land, an apartment, two houses, two cars and other property.
The Party of Socialists’ candidate Alexandr Mațarin, an economist by profession, is under No. 2. He is the vice director of Branch No. 30 of the Commercial Bank “Victoriabank”. Earlier he held different posts at a number of banks, including Banca de Economii, being branch director. Alexand Mațarin serves as a local councilor in Anenii Noi. For the last two years, the candidate and his wife declared over 405,000 lei salary revenues. He owns three lots of land and a car.
The candidate of the Shor Party Alexei Gorodinskii, a teacher by profession, takes the third spot on the ballot. He is the commercial director of the individual enterprise “Maria Gorodinski”. According to alege2019.md, the candidate at the start of the 1990s served as the mayor of Anenii Noi town and was a member of Parliament (1994-1998) on behalf of the electoral bloc “Socialist Party and Movement Unity – Edinstvo”. He was a member of the Parliament’s foreign policy commission. For the last two years, the candidate declared over 22,000 lei revenues. The candidate owns two lots of land, a commercial or production area and two cars.
The candidate of the electoral bloc ACUM Platform DA and PAS Gheorghe Balan, a jurist by profession, is under No. 4. He has worked as a judge at the Chisinau Court since 1996. In December 2018, he submitted an application to the Superior Council of Magistracy, asking to be suspended from post for the period of the election campaign, but this was rejected. Gheorghe Balan is a member of the Judges Association of Moldova. For the last two years, the candidate declared over 279,000 lei salary. He owns five lots of land, an apartment and a car.
The fifth spot is occupied by the Party of Communists’ candidate Veaceslav Bondari, a merceologist, economist and manager in public administration. He is the incumbent mayor of Anenii Noi town. Earlier, he was a member of Parliament on behalf of the PCRM, being also a member of the parliamentary commission on agriculture and food industry. For the past two years, the candidate and his wife declared over 302,000 lei salary. He owns three lots of land, an apartment, a villa and a car.
