Know candidates in your constituency! No. 26: Chisinau municipality

Constituency No. 26: Chisinau municipality consists of a part of Centru district and of Buiucani district. The electors there will vote at polling places No. 26/1-26/28. The candidate who wins the largest number of votes in a single-member constituency, regardless of the voter turnout, emerges victorious.

The list of candidates on the ballot is headed by the Party of Socialists’ candidate Dinari Cojocaru, an urologist by profession. He works at the National Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga”. He joined the PSRM in 2018 and is a member of this party’s National Council. Since July 2015 he has served as a Chisinau councilor on behalf of the PSRM. For the last two years, the candidate and his wife declared over 169,000 lei salary, 10,000 lei from selling property and over 86,000 lei in allowances. He owns an apartment and a car and almost 30,000 lei in bank accounts. He holds shares in a limited liability company.

The Shor Party’s candidate Victor Cotelea, a jurist by profession, is under No. 2. He works as a shift head at SRL “Avia Invest” and heads the Shor Party’s local organization in Botanica. For the last two years, he declared over 139,000 lei salary, 21,000 lei from teaching and creation activities and over 159,000 lei pension. Victor Cotelea possesses a lot of land, an apartment and a car.

The Democratic Party’s candidate Mihai Stratulat, a neonatologist by profession, takes the third spot. He teaches at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “N. Testemițanu” and is the medical director of the private clinic Pediatrica. He joined the Democratic Party at the end of 2018. For the last two years, he and his wife declared salary incomes of over 479,000 lei, more than 102,000 lei from teaching, scientific and creation activities and 676,000 lei from other sources. The candidate’s family owns two lots of land, a vacation house, a house, an apartment and a garage. They purchased two cars in leasing. The candidate is the founder of a limited liability company operating in the real estate sector.

The Liberal party’s candidate Vlad Biletski, a bachelor of economy, is under No. 4. He works as a teacher of civic education at the Theoretical Lyceum “Gheorghe Asachi”. Vlad Biletski is a civic activist who pleads for Moldova’s union with Romania. He has headed the public association “UNIREA - Onoare, Demnitate și Patrie” since 2014. Earlier he was a member of the public association “Moldova’s Youth”. For the last two years, the candidate declared 21,000 lei salary and from the sale of a car. He owns a car and manages a limited liability company that  provides consultancy and printing services.

The fifth spot is occupied by independent candidate Valeriu Cerba, a lawyer by profession. He is the pro-rector of the University of European Studies of Moldova and works at the law office “ProDreptate”. He graduated from the Teacher Training University “Ion Creangă” and the Academy of the Ministry of the Interior of Ukraine in Kiev. For the last two years, the candidate declared over 468,000 lei salary, 11,000 lei from teaching and over 69,000 RON pension from the Romanian state. He owns a number of pieces of land, an apartment, two cars and over 16,000 lei and more than 6,000 RON in card accounts.

The third spot on the ballot is taken by the candidate of the electoral bloc ACUM DA PAS Iurie Reniță, a diplomat by profession. He has been unemployed since December 2017. In 2016-2017, he served as Moldova’s Ambassador in Belgium, while in 2010-2015 as Moldova’s Ambassador in Romania. Iurie Reniță also worked at the OSCE Mission in Croatia and at British American Tobacco in Moldova. For the last two years, the candidate declared 184,000 lei salary and over 26,000 lei and €230 interest on bank deposits. He earned 100,000 lei from selling a car and over 557,000 lei from other sources. He owns an apartment, two cars and financial assets worth over 403,000 lei, €17,000 and over 3,000 RON.

The Party of Communists’ candidate Anton Miron, an agronomist and politologist by profession, is under No. 7. He is 77 and is a pensioner. In 2001-2003, he was the vice president of the PCRM. In March 2001, he entered Parliament and in 2002-2004 headed the Parliament’s commission on public administration. For the last two years, the candidate and his wife declared over 284,000 lei pension. The family owns an apartment and a garage and over US$ 22,000 and 50,000 lei in bank accounts.
