Kindergartens in Chisinau municipality will operate as usual during the holidays, except for the days officially declared non-working days: December 25, January 1, January 7 and 8, when they will be closed.
Chisinau kindergartens are attended by 37 400 children. They are brought to kindergarten from 07:30 and must be picked up by 18:00.
Angela Monacu, a senior specialist in the Institutional Management Directorate at the General Directorate for Youth Education and Sport, told IPN that during the holiday period attendance is lower because many parents are on vacation and choose to spend time with their children.
In the context of the holidays, General Directorate for Youth Education and Sport reminded that it is forbidden to collect money for gifts, decorations or other similar purposes. Similarly, the organization of sweet meals, the use of candles, firecrackers or fireworks is not allowed inside the institutions. Parents' access to extra-curricular activities will depend on the epidemiological situation and will be carried out in compliance with hygiene rules.
