A municipal program that would include the rehabilitation of all the schools and preschools should be launched in Chisinau, said the candidate for mayor of Chisinau of the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) Vadim Brînzaniuc. According to him, each preschool and school should be rehabilitated and extended, IPN reports.

In a press briefing in front of a school located in Buiucani district, Vadim Brînzaniuc said that while the schools in Moldova are closed, in Chisinau these are overcrowded. This aspect and the technical state of buildings leave to be desired.

The candidate noted that the rehabilitation of kindergartens and schools should be a priority as there are technical possibilities. He assured that in four years, he, together with his team, will rehabilitate all the educational institutions. He also promised to build by two crèches in each district of Chisinau.

Vadim Brînzaniuc said that it is easy to identify funds for all these things, through twining agreements with the local authorities of Romania and other external funds intended for education. The municipal budget is another source and 1 billion lei will be allocated annually from this to extensively rehabilitate and extend schools and preschools.

The candidate also has solutions for the shortage of personnel in educational institutions. According to him, the City Hall must undertake to subsidize or to offer an additional salary to teaching staff and ancillary personnel.

Following a draw, it was decided that Vadim Brînzaniuc will be next to No. 8 on the ballot.
