The election competitors do not stop making promises to the people. The representatives of the PAS, the PCRM-PSRM Bloc and the Shor Party assure that they will support the lifting of the immunity of MPs within the justice sector reform, will increase the pensions and salaries and will revitalize the economy, among others. The three election contenders staged a competition of promises during the second electoral debate on ProTV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.

PAS acting president Igor Grosu provided explanations about the house of 120 m2 that is indicated in his property statement at the value of only €11,000. Furthermore, the PAS leader rejected the accusations according to which the President campaigns for the party led by Igor Grosu, using administrative resources.

“It is the cadastral value of the house in which I live. When the Cadastral Service assesses my house and determines another value, I will indicate that value (...) It is the duty of the President to plead for ensuring the right to vote of all the citizens and this does not represent use of administrative resources. You will never see the President supporting one party or another,” stated Igor Grosu.

In the debate, the representative of the PCRM-PSRM bloc said the entity’s priority is to revitalize the economy of the Republic of Moldova. Furthermore, Vlad Batrîncea admitted that he does not regret the fact that he tore up the map of Greater Romania in Parliament.

“Our priority is to bring experienced statespersons to the administration of the Republic of Moldova. We consider the state should become involved in the banking sector, in agriculture, in economic processes. We will work to industrialize the country so that the Republic of Moldova could produce goods and be competitive on the foreign market. (...) My gesture to tear up the map of Greater Romania was excessive, but I remain firm on the position that we must promote the values of our state,” said Vlad Batrîncea.

In the debates, the representative of the Shor Party rejected the accusations that members of the party, including its leader, took part in the bank fraud and noted that the party’s priority in the future Parliament is to reform the justice sector and to obtain an end result in the bank fraud case.

“We will insist on the lifting of the immunity of MPs so that the political circus is excluded from Parliament. (...) We will center on economic development by instituting state monopoly on the import of alcohol, tobacco products and fuels. This will contribute to higher state budget revenues and this way we could raise pensions and salaries,” stated Denis Ulanov.
