Justice Reform in Moldova: Partners Unite for Transparency and Integrity

Chișinău, November 15, 2024 — Today, in Chișinău, the “Advancing Integrity and Transparency for a Modern Justice Sector” project officially launched at Cybercor. This initiative, implemented by the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) with support from the Government of Sweden, marks a new chapter in Moldova’s judicial reform efforts.

The event brought together key figures from the Moldovan Government, international institutions, and development partners, including Minister of Justice Veronica Mihailov-Moraru, Ambassador of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova H.E. Katarina Fried, and IDLO Director-General Jan Beagle.


In their remarks, leaders emphasized their commitment to justice reform in Moldova, highlighting the importance of reducing corruption, enhancing transparency, and ensuring access to justice system for all. The project will focus on implementing concrete measures to bolster anti-corruption efforts, increase transparency, and expand digital capabilities within  justice institutions in Moldova.

This project benefits multiple Moldovan institutions, including the Ministry of Justice, the Union of Authorized Administrators, the National Integrity Authority, the National Institute of Justice, and the National Anticorruption Center, as well as Civil Society Organizations.

The “Advancing Integrity and Transparency for a Modern Justice Sector” project represents a substantial step forward in modernizing Moldova’s justice sector, reinforcing the rule of law, and contributing to the country's democratic development.
