President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso has congratulated Vlad Filat on his appointment as Prime Minister of Moldova, expressing his hope that the Government will continue pursuing the needed political and economic reforms which will bring our country closer to the EU, Info-Prim Neo reports. “You can count on the European Commission’s continued support in dealing with the difficult challenges ahead, for the benefit of the Moldovan citizens”, said José Manuel Barroso in a statement released shortly after the Moldovan Parliament approved the second Filat Cabinet. The statement also says that today's event is a critical moment for Moldova. José Manuel Barroso also extended to Vlad Filat his personal wishes of success in working towards further deepening of the relations between Moldova and the European Union.
