Joint Visa Centre opens tomorrow in Chisinau
On April 25, the Common Visa Application Centre will be officially inaugurated at the Hungarian Embassy in Chisinau, an event attended by important European officials, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the organisers of the event, the opening is expected to be attended by Vice-President of the European Commission, Commissioner for Justice, Freedom and Security, Franco Frattini, and foreign ministers of Hungary and Austria, as well as diplomatic representatives from 40 states, representatives of European institutions and EU countries.
Initially, the Centre will operate within the Embassy of Hungary, issuing visas for Hungary, Austria, Latvia and Slovenia. The Hungarian representatives recently informed the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration that Latvia and Denmark expressed their willingness to join the centre. There are also states such as Finland, Estonia and Belgium that are examining the opportunity to take part in the activity of the Common Centre.
The official opening ceremony will take place tomorrow morning. On this occasion, the Road Police will block the segment of Stefan cel Mare Blvd between Lazo and Movila streets, starting at 10:30 till 12:30.
