General Secretary of the European Union Council Javier Solana was forced to adjourn his visit in the region, including to Moldova, related to activation of discussions within the EU on Iran item. Solana informed about this the president of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin, while the phone talk, according to press service of the president. Anyway, Javier Solana mentioned that very soon he would find the possibility to visit Chisinauin order to discuss the cooperation priorities between the European Union and Moldova, first of all the aspects related to Transnistrian regulation. At his turn, Vladimir Voronin regretted the bad way of the negotiation process, but appreciated highly the activity of the EU Mission of monitoring the Moldovan-Ukrainian border and Eu participation in negotiations. The Eu High representative underscored that the Transnistrian problem represented for him one of priority directions of activity, and he hoped that very soon to discuss with the president of Moldova all key-possibilities of regulating it. Solana had to meet with Vladimir Voronin on 2 March, that he had to leave for Kiev for a meeting with the Ukrainian president, Viktor Yushchenko.
