The investment company Mitsui from Japan intends to invest in the modernization and re-lunching of the Eastern Heating Plant from Chisinau, announced on Friday, May 12 the manager of the Mitsui office in Germany, Tatsuro Amano, at a meeting with the representatives of the National Agency for Energy Regulations (NAER). Also today, the president of the Romanian company “Rokura”, Cristian Gheorghesu, declared at a meeting with the prime-minister Vasile Tarlev that the company analyzes the possibility of associating with the Japanese company in order to implement several projects regarding the modernization of the heating plants from Moldova. The company “Rokura” already collaborates with SA “Termocom” in the process of modernizing the small power plants and automation of the technologic process. According to the press-service of NAER the Japanese delegation researched the energetic market of the Republic of Moldova and the state of the Heating and Power Plant that does not work for many years, and decided to make an offer regarding the re-equipment of the Plant into a co-generating of power and heat plant. The head of NAER, Anatol Burlacov welcomed the intentions of the Japanese company to invest in the energetic sector of the country, emphasizing the project regarding the co-generating plant is of great importance for the internal market that suffers at present of an energy deficit, especially in constructing interconnection power lines with the power systems of the neighbor countries. Mitsui is one of the biggest investment companies from Japan. It has assets estimated at 700 billion USD and has over 40 thousand employees around the world and near 400 representatives and offices around the world. Yearly the company registers an income of 30-32 billion dollars and a profit of over 1 million USD. The Japanese company activates in many fields like energetic, car constructing industry, infrastructure etc.
