The European Union’s Ambassador in Chisinau Janis Mazeiks mocks the Russian intelligence services who accuse the EU of "deciding the future of the Republic of Moldova". In a post on social media, he noted that the Russian foreign spy service is doing everything it can in the field of disinformation, IPN reports.
The diplomat's post is also accompanied by an image showing antennas similar to those on the roof of Russia’s Embassy in Chisinau and by a message saying "When the antennas rust, you can't hear well."
"I came across its latest 'masterpiece', through which it (the Russian Federation) accuses the EU of deciding the future of Moldova down to the smallest detail. Thanks for this joke, it made my day more joyful. We know the proverb – “The thief cries “Catch the thief", wrote Janis Mazeiks.
The EU ambassador is concerned about Russia's persistent attempts to undermine Moldova's democracy. According to him, everyone knows that the EU is not Russia. The EU's work to support Moldova on its European path is producing results and is being noticed. "The EU remains committed to cooperation, transparency and common values, not to manipulation or secrecy," noted Janis Mazeiks.
