Iurie Roșca has no big illusions about chances of winning in appeals court

After the first court sentenced him to six years in prison for influence peddling, Iurie Roșca said that he has no big illusions about the chances of winning in the appeals court. The former Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Speaker of Parliament noted that through his conviction, his “status as a dissident, perhaps number 1 in the Romanian space, is recognized.” The reaction comes after the Buiucani Court of Chisinau City on Friday passed the judgment against him, IPN reports.

Iurie Roșca said that on July 23, at the penultimate hearing of the court of first instance, prosecutors asked for four years in his case. “The cases when judges give you a longer imprisonment term than the prosecutors, the state prosecutors ask are very rare. In this way, I am recognized as a dissident, perhaps number 1 in the Romanian space. At least at the moment, there is no other extremely vocal politician and journalist, on national and international scales, who would be worthy of the grand prize – six years in prison,” saidIurie Roșca.

He also said that he has no big illusions about the chances of winning in the appeals court. “The decision was not taken in the Republic of Moldova and not by Mrs. Cucerescu (Judge Ana Cucerescu, e.n.). Judge Cucerescu read this sentence more or less jauntily. Why? Because Iurie Roșca must be silenced, Iurie Roșca must be put in jail, Iurie Roșca must be destroyed so that his voice is no longer heard in the public space,” stated the former Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

According to him, the case was fabricated and this is not the first attempt by the governments to jail Iurie Roșca “because he is one of the most daring, most insistent and most corrosive towards the current government, first of all Maia Sandu, but also towards the European Union as an anti-national, anti-Christian project that first colonizes the peoples mentally, then economically, politically, civilizationally, etc.,” he stated.

“Don’t cry, today I am free and I was awarded the highest possible medal – the Satanist globalist system recognizes my merit as a fighter against the new world order. Therefore, I have not lived in vain.”

Iurie Roșca, ex-leader of the Christian Democratic People’s Party,  was sentenced on Friday to six years in prison for influence peddling. The former Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Speaker of Parliament in two legislatures was found guilty of requesting €1 million from the administrator of a company to influence the president of the Supreme Court of Justice. The sentence is not final and Iurie Roșca was banned from leaving the country.
