The Embassy of Italy, in cooperation with numerous partners, is staging the second Italian Cuisine Week in the World in Chisinau during November 20-26. Thus, in the course of this week, the Italian restaurants in Chisinau will offer special menus with the aim of valorizing the Italian culinary art and the concept of Mediterranean diet owing to which Italy is among the countries where people live the longest and which have the highest life expectancy in the world, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Embassy of Italy says that special attention will be devoted to pizza in a move to promote the Neapolitan pizza’s candidacy (“Traditional Art of Neapolitan Pizza Makers”) for the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
On November 25, between 11am and 6pm, the Italian Cuisine Week in the World will be celebrated at the shopping center MallDova with an exhibition of Italian products, a cooking show by Italian chef Fabio Bianconi, a presentation of typical Italian wines, a Masterchef contest involving Moldovan celebrities, dances and music, including a small concert by Italian singer Francesco Baccini.
On the last day, the celebration of the Italian Cuisine Week in the World will be an occasion for observing the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Thus, on November 26, in cooperation with UN Women, the Multifunctional Social Center “Helmut Wolf” of Ciuciuleni will host the event “Recipes against Violence” with a masterclass by chef Bianconi, tasting of Italian wines and dishes, music by singer Francesco Baccini and a presentation by the artist, together with film director Luca Guardabascio, of a video centering on domestic violence.
