The founder of the Moldova Platform Irina Vlah, says that after she announced that she will run in the presidential election of this autumn, both she and her supporters have become the target of intimidation and harassment. According to her, the attacks, manipulations, forgeries and intimidations are on the part of those who serve Maia Sandu’s regime, IPN reports.
“As you well know, I always travel to the localities of the country, where I discuss with people the problems they face and the solutions that are needed. Previously, during these visits, I was followed by employees of the law enforcement agencies, but now it has come to the point that the people I see are called, asked why they participate in such meetings and are suggested to avoid communicating with me. Moreover, the law enforcement officers take pictures at the meetings I have with people and place them in the so-called “free press”, accompanied by information that has nothing in common with the reality. A proof of this is my recent meeting with the citizens of Soroca, about which false information was transmitted in the press - that I am supported by the people of a particular politician. In reality, the people who participated in the meeting with me for about two years have nothing in common with politics,” Irina Vlah said in a press briefing.
The leader of the Moldova Platform said that a “whole army was raised against her – employees of the law enforcement bodies, representatives of local authorities, pocket analysts, yellow and controlled press”. “I meet provocateurs everywhere – people who do everything possible to intimidate me, to discourage me. Honestly, I feel sorry for them, because they do not have minimum dignity and courage to oppose criminal orders coming from a government that has long lost its legitimacy and behaves exactly like any regime that has gone into agony. At the same time, from another point of view, the increased attention paid to me by Maia Sandu and her servants are for me a proof that I have chosen a correct path,” stated Irina Vlah.
The politician said that she is aware that the attacks against her will increase even more, because, according to her, “this is how all regimes that panic behave, knowing that the end is near.” “But, no matter how much pressure Maia Sandu’s regime puts on me and my team, no matter how much lies and manipulation they will disseminate in society, I will not give in. I have set my goal – a Moldova without the odious regime of Maia Sandu, a Moldova in which peace and interethnic harmony will reign, and the citizens will have a decent standard of living,” said Irina Vlah.
