Irina Ringaci has won a silver medal at the European Wrestling Championships held in Macedonia, IPN reports.

In the 57 kg weight class, she beat Josephine Haemmerle of France, Sylwia Martyka of Poland and Russia’s Anastasia Sidelnikova, but lost to Anna Hella Szel of Hungary in the final.

Owing to the success achieved at the European championships, Irina Ringaci will be able to perform at the Buenos Aires Youth Olympics of this October.

Another two Moldovan female wrestlers, Maria Leorda (43 kg) and Andrea Deleu (65 kg), won bronzes.
