Moldovan wrestler Irina Rîngaci clinched the bronze medal at the European Championships held in Bucharest. She scored two victories in the 65 kg weight category, against Russia’s Dinara Kudaeva and Turkey’s Kadriye Aksoy, IPN reports.
In the semifinals, Rîngaci was defeated by Ukrainian-born Romanian wrestler Kateryna Zelenykh. Andrei Chiperi’s pupil has already qualified for the Paris Olympic Games.
Another representative of Moldova, Mihaela Samoil (57 kg) in the small final lost to Poland’s Anhelina Lysak and ranked 5th.
