Natalia Gavrilița considers that raising salaries is an investment in the citizens of Moldova. “I strongly believe in employees’ rights, in decent pay and social protection. We must continue raising salaries”, the minister declared during a Wednesday meeting with representatives of the Confederation of Labour Unions (CNSM). The Ministry of Finance is working on a mid-term strategy on the pay of public-sector employees.

If the justice reform does not work out, the most concerned should be the citizens. Federica Mogherini has noted that the EU financial support UE is conditional. The European Union is ready to offer the Republic of Moldova even more support than before. Besides the macro-financial assistance, with the first instalment arriving in the coming weeks, a financing agreement has been signed for the programs on local sustainable development and the rule of law, in the amount of 40 million euros. The official has also noted that the EU will closely monitor the electoral processes in the current campaign. She says these elections will be the first electoral test for this government, showing to what extent the process will be transparent and to what extent it will comply with international standards.
Veterans of the war on Dniester and Afghanistan war urge the authorities to "turn towards them". They ask the authorities to increase their monthly allowances, starting January 1, 2020. Veterans are also asking the authorities to receive state covered medical insurance and to be put on the list of those who receive free flu vaccines. They request material assistance for the construction or purchase of houses, but also the granting, once in every two years, of tickets for health resorts. Facilities for dental treatment and other medical services are also needed. Also, tariff reductions are required for public transportation. Veterans expect an invitation to dialogue from the authorities next week.
A draft law proposing a series of immediate measure for helping small businesses will be formally introduced in Parliament next week. The draft law gives an advantage in public procurement to small companies paying higher-than-average salaries, thus encouraging them to honestly pay remuneration and social contributions. “For example, if a firm participating in a public procurement process reports an annual salary rise of at least 16%, it will be given priority”, says MP Radu Marian on a social network. Drivers will be able to park their cars free of charge in two places arranged for this purpose in Centru sector of the capital. The parking lots are at the following addresses: Bucharest, 30 (at the intersection with Bulgarian street) and Testemiţanu street, 31 (in the area of the Republican Hospital). Democracy at Home Political Party, together with the group of citizens who were on hunger strike between July 9 - 13, is organizing a new protest action from October 3 to Monday, October 7, in front of Parliament. At a press conference with IPN, Vasile Costiuc, leader of the group, has said that he goes again on a hunger strike in order to put pressure on "MPs who care for the Republic of Moldova" and to make them form a new pro-European parliamentary majority, "consisting of MPs who are patriots”. Two thousand persons aged 70 and over, receiving small pensions, will benefit from 500-lei one time allowance on the occasion of the International Day of the Elderly. Beneficiary lists have been processed by the sectoral Social Assistance Directorates, where people can check if they are on the list.
