The Moldovan Judo Federation has a new manager. Veaceslav Manolachi tendered his resignation and his place was taken by businessman Ion Vinaga, IPN reports.
Vinaga did judo only as an amateur, but promised to bring more money for the federation that he will head during the next three years. “I do not want to make great promises, but I’m ready to work. We will make effort to improve things,” Ion Vinaga, who was voted in by 34 votes of the 37 delegates of the federation, told the reporters.
Former president Veaceslav Manolachi had managed the federation during the past 15 years. He remained to work for the federation and will serve as vice president. During Manolachi’s presidency, the Moldovan judokas won five medals at world and European championships. Two years ago, six of the best judokas of Moldova went to represent the United Arab Emirates. Manolachi is also the rector of the State University of Physical Education and Sport.
