Ion Chicu: These elections will show if Moldovans can organize democratic elections

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Ion Chicu cast his ballot. He presented himself at the polling station together with his wife early in the morning, IPN reports.

Premier Chicu noted that these elections are of historical importance, as the previous ones were. They will show to the world if the Moldovans can conduct democratic and free elections. “There were tensions and not really commendable behaviors among politicians. I hope that today the people will bring this campaign to an end and tomorrow we will have a President elected by the people and we will be able to continue work so as to improve things in the country. We must, as a state, ensure decent living conditions for the people, be able to pay pensions and salaries, offer the people the possibility of working here, in the country, bringing our people from abroad to work at home as the people are the greatest value of this country,” he stated.

His wife noted that she hopes for a bright future, a united society, peace and welfare.
