The elections are a very responsible exercise for the Republic of Moldova. It is important that all the Moldovans should successful go through this exercise and elect their President. “The Republic of Moldova definitely has a future. We should only work more and believe in this and should go to the polls today,” Prime Minister Ion Chicu stated after casting his ballot. He was accompanied by his wife, IPN reports.

“I’m sure that each citizen of the Republic of Moldova knows what they vote for and knows that the country’s fate is in the hands of each of us. A correct decision should be made today, as I consider I did,” stated the official.



Premier Chicu also had a message in Russian, calling on the people to go to the polls and decide the country’s fate for the next four years.

The citizens of the Republic of Moldova who are eligible to vote are expected to vote in the presidential elections today. Polls are open between 7am and 9pm. Eight candidates run for the presidency.
