Ion Caracuian named head of PCCOCS

The Superior Council of Prosecutors in its September 4 meeting appointed Ion Caracuian as the chief of the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), IPN reports.

“I started work in the prosecution service in 2002, as a prosecutor at the Ialoveni Prosecutor’s Office. In 2006, I was transferred to the Prosecutor General’s Office, to the Prosecution Control Division,” Ion Caracuian said, speaking about his professional profile.

Since December 2019 until present, Ion Caracuian has held the post of acting head of the PCCOCS. Earlier, he headed the Torture Combating Division of the PGO.

In the contest to fill the post of chief of the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, Ion Caracuian was the only applicant.
