The Chisinau early mayoral elections held in the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti unnoticeably turned into an election campaign prior to the parliamentary elections, considers politologist Boris Shapovalov. According to him, the Party “Action and Solidarity” and the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” took over the protests and stage events to remind the voters about their existence, IPN reports.
In the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, the politologist said this wave of events will be maintained and will be even intensified starting with September, when Parliament will be on vacation.
As to the letter signed by over 700 mayors of Moldova, whereby these complain that the opposition leaders acted irresponsibly when they went to Strasbourg and asked to block the macro-financial assistance, Boris Shapovalov said this is nothing else but a move made by the central authorities.
Jurist Pavel Midrigan said the oppositions’ protests should be intensified as the parliamentary elections will most probably take place this December. Of the over 40 parties existing on the political arena of Moldova, only several state their viewpoints on the developments inside the country, while the others make themselves noticeable only in election campaigns.
