International Mother Language Day observed in Moldova for the first time

The International Mother Language Day will be celebrated in Moldova for the first time, declared by UNESCO in 1999. This day will be observed on February 22 by the Jewish Cultural Centre “KEDEM”, Info-Prim Neo reports. As organisers say, the International Mother Language Day will be celebrated by an artistic programme with participation of artists and bands of children who will perform songs and recite poems in Yiddish, Hebrew, Romanian, Russian and Ukrainian languages. They say this day has never been observed in Moldova before, so KEDEM decided to inaugurate a tradition. The spectacle will be held on February 22, at 4.00 pm, in the theatre hall of KEDEM on Diordita Street, 5.
