Interim mayor of the municipality Chisinau asked that starting on Monday, 27 February, to „fight” unauthorised parking of the municipality Chisinau. Ursu asked the leadership of the Public Transport and Communications department of Municipal Council (CMC) to draft as soon as possible a plan of placing the parking in the municipality Chisinau, which shall be proposed on Tuesday, to be discussed by the municipal council. He noted that the mayoralty is ready to install equipment for automat collection of parking taxes, being necessary only the presence of certain persons to supervise if these rules are respected. The mayor was astonished by the situation created connected to illegal parking of private transport on pavements, especially in the centre of the city. This way, Ursu said, is destroyed the pavement and created difficulties for pedestrian circulation. According to capital’s administration, the government shall approve further the regulation on parking activity. Deputy commissioner of the municipality, Petru Corduneanu, required during the Monday meeting of mayoralty, to be proposed to municipal council, to increase the fines for unauthorised parking, as the current ones, between 9 and 18 lei, are small and are not an obstacle for illegal parking. In the same time, he mentioned that, fighting illegal parking, it has to be foreseen the ways of evacuating cars, as well as to hire special machines for forced eviction.
