Inflation rate in December 2006 was 1.2%
In December 2006, consumer prices rose by 1.2%, compared to November this year, including food products by 2.1%, non-food products by 0.8%, and services provided to population by 0.1%.
In the reference period, the price rise was influenced by the increase in price of certain food products: grapes – 12.9%, fresh vegetables –11.6% (including hothouse tomatoes – 28.7%, fresh cabbage –11.9%), fresh fruits – 6.3% (apples – 9.5%), wheat flour –2.5%, dietetic eggs and dairy products – 2.3% (cheese –4.4%, milk –3.4%).
As for non-food products, fuel grew dearer by 1.8% (coal by 5.3%), and drugs by 0.9%. In the reporting period, prices also increased in providing international rail freight services – 9.7%, concert hall services –3.5% and cinema services –2.3%.
Price cuts in December were registered for citrus fruits - by 2% and sugar - by 1.4%.
The rate of inflation in December 2006 was 14.1% compared to the same month of 2005.
