Infectionist Fiodor Bargan, who worked in the consultative section of the Comrat District Hospital, lost the battle with COVID-19. The 45-year-old specialist was admitted to the National Clinical Hospital on May 15. According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, 14 infected healthcare workers succumbed to the disease by now, IPN reports.

In the morning of May 25, the Ministry reported five more deaths from COVID-19. The victims are two men aged 72 and 81 from the municipality of Chisinau, two women aged 65 and 83 from the municipality of Chisinau and an 87-year-old woman from the Transnistrian region. This way, the death toll from the COVID-19 reached 256.

Currently, 275 infected persons are in a serious state and 23 of them were put on a ventilator. In total 3,802 persons have been cured of COVID-19.

Moldova has got 7,093 infections with COVID-19 so far. Of them, 880 were recorded in the Transnistrian region. Almost 1,500 of those infected are healthcare workers.
