A woman under the influence of alcohol was admitted to the hospital with signs that she gave birth, but she could not say where the child was. The police launched an investigation to determine whether the woman had a miscarriage or killed the baby, IPN reports.
Liuba Zgarvaci, head of the Gynecology Section of the Nisporeni District Hospital, said the 28-year-old woman is from Isaicani village of the same district. She was hospitalized in the evening of March 8 with hemorrhage and signs that she gave birth. She was in an advanced state of inebriation and could not explain where the child was.
The woman hadn’t been monitored by doctors during pregnancy. She was discharged in three days as her state stabilized. She has two more children. The youngest one is one year and a half.
Head of the press service of the General Police Inspectorate Sabina Cojusnean said the woman is not yet investigated as a suspect as the results of the medical-legal examination of the child will be available in 15 days. The police found the body of the child on the roadside in Valea Trastieni village of Nisporeni district. It is supposed that the woman went into labor and was heading for the hospital, but gave birth on the way.
