Industrial prices rose by 19.4% in February
The prices of industrial products in February increased by 19.4% on January, the National Bank of Moldova said.
The prices in processing industry rose by 3.2%, in the metallurgical industry by 55.4%, production of mineral water and soft drinks by 15.8%, dressing of leather 13.6%, wine production by 10.6%, manufacture of glass and glass products by 6.8%, beer production by 5.4%, working of wood and manufacture of wood products by 3.4%, of distilled alcoholic drinks by 3.3%, of machines and electric appliances, of paper and cardboard by 2.7% each. The prices in extractive industry went up by 2.6%, of electrical and thermal energy, gas and water by 95.4%.
The prices of industrial products rose by 27.3% on February 2006. From the start of 2007, they increased by 21%.
The industrial production volume in February 2007 totaled about
1.3 billion lei or by 17.1% less on February 2006. The industrial output over January-February added up to about 2.4 billion lei or by 13.9% less compared with the corresponding period 2006.
The consumer prices this February rose by 0.7% on January 2007.
